Two young girls, one smiling, in a workshop or kitchen, dipping a metal whisk into a large container of dark liquid, surrounded by shelves and boxes.

skar organics. Yorkshire.

A candle seems a simple thing, until you learn what most of them are made of — paraffin, synthetic scent, and additives you would not choose to breathe.

Skär Organics is the work of Chloë and Fraser, a husband-and-wife team in Yorkshire who make the UK’s first and only certified organic candles.

The name comes from the Old Norse for pure, and the candles earn it: certified organic beeswax from remote European apiaries, natural essential oils, and nothing synthetic, made by hand in small batches.

A candle you can burn without hesitation. Slow work, in the service of a cleaner home.
